Thanks Jim,
What is a normal duration of changing the CCF?
Is that a 15 minute job?

Well my local LR dealer (one of the biggest) states they have not done this mod before so they will charge me by the hour (at 105 Euro excl vat).
I sort of don't trust them.....

Would you be able to provide me with the high level steps, so I can help them navigate to the right place to push the right button...

That would be great!

For those that have a Alpine mid-line system.
You can install the two L/R dash speakers. It is already a big improvement.
And not too expensive. 40-50 euro

Jaaph, I am thinking of doing the outer dash speakers on my midline stereo, since they work straight away. The LR001694 package has both speakers in it, or do I have to order 2xLR001694?

Hi,
You need to order two times that code. Don't forget the screws and u-clips.
It was already an improvement, but today I got the CCF changed and the sound is much much better.
Even with a IPod on the aux.
But the whole installation is a bit expensive.
150 pounds for the speakers, 139 for a second hand jaguar amp and 70 for the CCF up-date.

Hi Jaaph, thanks for the quick answer. I had in mind the screws but I didn't think of the clips. Thumbs Up

Did my retrofit today, 2 hours from start to stop including the programming.

Was going to wait for the bluetooth kit to turn up, but I got itchy fingers & couldn't wait.

While it's definitely a major step up from the Midline system, it's still not as great as the "Audiophile" spec system in my XJR. For the $350 it cost me in parts (2nd hand amp for $100 Smile ) I think it's definitely worth doing. But no way in hell is it worth the $3500 I was quoted by the local dealer for parts alone... 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers

i'm doing it!

have read about this upgrade, I decided to just do the 2 front ones, but I had a chance of getting a DD amp. so I brought it, I've ask my local indi to program the CCF but they have never done it, and was wondering if there's any pointers I can give them, going to see if they can activate the DAB and memory seats to, but haven't fitted them (or got them!!!) yet, any help would be greatly appreciated Very Happy 2010 XS Part Leather, Side Steps, Retro fitted 2014 Halogens with DRL & Sig Strip, tinted rear windows (looks much better!) 2 front dash speaker fitted, big improvement! another update!

got a 6 cd player (thanks Mike) and had it programmed to my FL2, but the amp is a another problem... turns out that if you get a jag amp, which I was under the impression would work, but the one I have wont, my local indy (JSF) tried to even reprogram the amp but it wouldn't have it, so looks like I need to get a LR one, so if anyone wants a DD amp from a jag let me know, I have one going cheap!!! 2010 XS Part Leather, Side Steps, Retro fitted 2014 Halogens with DRL & Sig Strip, tinted rear windows (looks much better!) 2 front dash speaker fitted, big improvement! Maybe the amp is a dud? Because my amp came out of an XF, worked perfectly.

Or maybe your Indy is not doing it right? 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers

That's good to know, did you have to reprogram it? Their using autologic they sent the file away to them and had them rewrite it but it wouldn't up load, going to send the amp back and try another one 2010 XS Part Leather, Side Steps, Retro fitted 2014 Halogens with DRL & Sig Strip, tinted rear windows (looks much better!) 2 front dash speaker fitted, big improvement! Think you need to find a new Indy! No need to fit 6 disc head unit and jag amp will work fine 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)
