So been looking around the last 6 weeks or so for some cheaper way to update the original 2007 sat Nav discs that came with my Fl2 seen all the comments about dodgy discs, the numerous problems that might happen etc etc. took the plunge on Thursday and ordered from a company found on Google for the 2014 Disc 2 (UK) priced at under £35.00 my mate also bought the same for his Fl2 but from another company again on Google but this time under £20.00 all exc p&p, update here my mates were actually £24.95 not under £20.00 as previously said - apologies

From the sat nav secret menu if you enter the PIN 295660 and then press the Version button what does the DISK field say? |

You don't have sufficient posts to use the PM facility yet and the use of 'dodgy' sat nav discs is not condoned on this site. |

No, just stick with the update and forget about the satnav for a while........on some the updates are quick and on others it seems to take forever. On the ones that take ages just drive as normal and within a day or two (which I'd equate to a few hours on driving time) it should come back to life but with the update running. This is far easier than sitting around trying to keep the ignition on and watching nothing happening. |

Only cost 24quid for what looked like a genuine update DVD so I didn't bother with the download burn DVD route. Might try it for the other Euro country disks. |

If I took my I think it's 2010 DVDs out of the machine in the car to see if the file size is about the same would I have to go through the reinstalling procedure again if I put the same disk back in ? |

Don't think so. The main issue seems to be that when the system reboots it displays a message something like 5-45mins and then takes in some cases considerably longer. The general advice I found was that when changing disks and reload/updates are found then depending on how much has to be updated or changed determines the time it takes but you have no indication of this time.
