Perhaps a topic covered before but I can't find it listed. I'm toying with the idea of a low mileage SD4 XS or similar in blue. Just how practicable are late FL2's to service and repair/maintain yourself?

My current MY2013 is under LR warranty for another 12 Months but then I intend to service it myself as I did my old 2007 FL2 & 2002 FL1 before that. Never had a problem with servicing my old FL2. Oil and Fuel filters are a bit tricky at first but easy to do after that.

Found it fine to work on so far. I replaced the rear diff myself, and have done the egr valve too .... Its like most modern cars, it's the same type of mechanics as older cars just with sensors bolted on. I.e., just a few more bolts to undo till you get to the stuff you know from old. |

Just got the Haynes book nothing looks too arduous. Have cambelt change and autobox fluid change. Both at way before LRs time schedule. |
