Depends are you ever taking the car off road? If you are the I would stick to 16" or 17" if you're never venturing off road then you can go up to 19" alloys if your wanting to stick to the Freelander range of wheels MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

17" wheels are immune to most kerbs height wise, clattered into many without damaging the alloys. |

Some tyres don't come in all sizes. According to what I've read on here there is a better selection of winter tyres on 17" rims. May also apply to the more aggressive off-roaders. 16" wheels will not fit some models. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

If buying wheels as well as tyres remember to tell your insurance you have non-standard wheels. Forum sponsor AJS is quite close to your location btw.

It's that wiggly line beyond which North Londoners and cab drivers (allegedly) do not go. See http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1677595 Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

None if you use the correct size tyre. Circumference is the same. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
