Yes, that makes sense, mind you at least you would (or should be) in control of a van obviously in the hands of the pilot in a plane.

We're off on Monday to Madeira so I hope we don't get involved in any of it. Sad

home sweet home Cool

woke at 5am to get up and set off, the kids are a bit snappy.

strike was only a 2 day thing. our flight was cancelled at 5pm the evening before a 12noon take off

luckily I had the easyjet app to learn of the cancellation as the text warning didnt arrive until 9pm

luckily Im well insured after having my fingers burnt with a similar delay 2 years ago (euro flooding) At work

story - insurance wouldn't pay strike action is classed as a delay not a cancellation so they only paid out £160 thye cancelled excess as a good will after I nearly exploded

Initially easyjet would only refund the cost of the cancelled flight but would offer nothing for the alternative airline flights. this is correct they have no obligation. this view was repeated in manynewspaper articles after the strike

But in a stroke of great customer relation they have actually paid for my flights and additional nights accommodation £900, nice one easyjet Thumbs Up . a cheeky begging letter never hurts

My faith in big business is boosted Very Happy as is my bank balance (Mrs G need not know about this) At work

I used to work in the mobile phone industry. One thing to remember is that texts are not guaranteed to arrive promptly, in fact they are not even guaranteed to arrive at all (they are classed as datagrams with no acknowledgements along the way). Longest delay I have had is about 10 days. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

I would think the most important consideration about flying these days is whether you will actually ever come back. Shocked
