Time to change?

All

My (MY11) FL2 is (obv.) 4 years old. I'm wondering whether to keep it for a few years more or to trade it in, in the next year (ie before 5 yrs old). I am pondering if it gets to be older than that, the LR dealer will view it as ancient and of little interest as a trade-in vehicle???

Thoughts welcomed! ...

I would get a p/x price to change now and then make your decision based on how good/bad that is. I personally love my FL2 so would recommend keeping it Thumbs Up

In my experience dealers will always accept a trade in, you will get the book price regardless of any extras (even new tyres or discs and pads) and as long as the bodywork looks OK they will probably not even test drive it. If it's new enough a LR dealer will put it on his own forecourt but generally they go either straight into an auction or to a nearby dealer who specialises in certain types and ages of cars. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I was recently offered a trade in on my 07 FL2 by a LR main dealer. Nothing fantastic but not unreasonable either.

Ta! That's reassuring. TBH I love the FL2 I have, and even I'm struggling to justify changing it for (eg) DS or Evoque.

Anyone got any good justifications I might use? Ta! ...

You feel like having a change is as good as any?

I can't see anything out there better than the FL2, so I'm keeping mine for the foreseeable future.

Razz Just sold my MY10 XS to a local garage and got reasonable money for it, far better that trade in or those buy your car. coms.
Picked up a steal on fleabay, a MY13 GS with the extra's 6.5K miles on it and I recon £5K less that dealers + has 12 months warranty still left on it. Was unsure about a private buy but all ent well.
Go for it!

I didn't like the new DS either so part x'd my FL2 for a D4!

Go for it you won't regret it although I'm obviously biased. Razz

Otherwise get another FL2 as they are great cars. Mine never missed a beat in 2.5 years of ownership. Disco 4 HSE SDV6 Orkney Grey

I'm with Pab.

I can't see any better vehicle in its class, FL2s running costs are brilliant considering their abilities besides which I have just got everything as I want it, with underbody protection, dog crate, mudflaps, AT tyres, etc.

However, if you fancy the change, what better reason is there?
