Sports Kit fitting?

I know its not to everyone's taste on the forum, but i've just purchased the sports kit in Sumartra black off e-bay.. £500 which i thought was a good deal as the last time i spoke to my dealer about it, they wanted £1600 to supply and fit!..

Anyway, has anyone actually fitted the full kit themselves? - I'm aware a few have fitted the grill, rear top spoiler etc, but has anyone fitted the front and rear spoilers? -if so any tips?

I'll be picking it up from Hereford Landrover sometime next week (as they want £100 to post it Shocked ).. considerably cheaper for me to drive the 350 mile round trip to pick it up.. tight ar*e i know Wink and i also get to give her a good drive for the day...

Also, anyone know much about these LED headlights that are starting to appear - it seems the boy's over on the RRS site can already buy / retro fit these?

Anyway, she's 8 months old now... 6k on the clock, and i still smile everytime i drive her.. great little motor!

Cheers
Steve

Only tip is the 3M sponge and adhesive bonds immediately, make sure everything is lined up but otherwise, although I haven't fitted the kit, the only troublesome bit looks like the rear bumper because of all the damn clips. Phil

Hi Steve, I was watching the out come of that auction myself. (Petrol Kit) I have just had one fitted last week at my local body shop cost me £120. apparently simple to fit-full instructions with the kit, absolutely everything sticks on with double sided tape that's included. the front bib is in 3/4 pieces and the rear apron is one piece. door bottoms and original front bib come off and then bigger ones get stuck on.

Mine looks great with the kit on, I'm Sure you'll love it!

57 Sumartra, GS TD4, sports kit, 19in Shadow cromes, smoke side repeaters.

P.S.
Got 2 sets of 17in GS alloys & Tyres for sale
1x set of 5 alloys brand new with goodyear wranglers
1x set of 4 used alloys & 1 unused steel wheel & tyre

In my book £100 is cheaper /same as a 350 mile trip ?? allowing for all costs, but I suppose that's cars are for, driving to places Thumbs Up . And at least you know some parcel force gorillas wont be throwing your stuff around. (hope npbody here works for parcel force Embarassed ) At work

when you get to the LR dealer, check that all the parts are there and none of it is damaged, if they haven't stated any missing parts or damage you can insist on a refund Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Cheers for the heads up chaps.. - Taken a look at the fitting instructions (cheers Bartosz) - looks fairly straight forward - will post some pics once complete.

Rowy - please tell me that £120 was for fitting only and not the full kit!!!! Embarassed out of interest where did you buy your kit if you don't mind me asking?..

CG, i'm getting between 540 to 560 out of a full tank at present, so i suppose there is not much in it when you take into account wear and tear.. but filling up the tank for £80 and using half a tank to get there and back still sounds and feels cheaper than loosing £100 for delivery...

It isn't double sided tape on its own, there's a 3M liquid adhesive applied onto the other surface, then squeezed the two together. Phil

While its true that I don't love the sports kit , I can see why people do, Ha anyone fiited the kit but left the standard grill in place, the mesh one is what puts me off the kit , more the fact that I like the standard one rather than actively dislike the mesh.

Its good to differ though, otherwise we would have nothing to talk about Thumbs Up At work

Best i get out of a tank is 380 miles, presently showing 27.2 mpg for last 112 miles

I plan to get the front and side skirts, but leaving the standard grill, not that keen on the honeycomb mesh either. Phil
