Lake District Bound

Head off to drop the wife and kids off at LBA in the morning so I have the weekend free

So heading off to Lake Windermere first thing Saturday to spend the day on the lake, plan to stop off with the camera on the way up to do some photography. Then heading home Sunday night or Monday via a couple of locations yet to be decided

Then a week of freedom with me, the Dog and a good play with the new Quadcopters to see if I can crash a bit less Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Lucky you, I'm heading away from the lakes, bank holiday traffic, and heading for a 2nd service at Farnell Bury. Then off to the peak district, a couple of nights in a pub in Matlock, explore the area and back home, Sunday, before the blank holiday rush!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just me and the boss, leaving the dog with the lad who say's he will be partying for 2 nights! Rolling with laughter

Matlock is a nice town, there is Chesterfierld with its crooked spire, Bakewell with its river, Chatsworth house which is very expensive but well worth a visit, Castleton with it blue john mines and gorge. Plus plenty of nice country pubs.

Crich is nice little place, and there is a lovely little cafe just down from the tram museum / memorial.

Matlock is ok, but is a little bit like a smaller Blackpool with chip shops and arcades and without the tower/sea/beach

Lots of really nice country pubs across the whole area, lots of good walking (routes around the reservoirs are really nice)

Have a great weekend Smile

it is a nice area the Peak District, Matlock, Buxton, Bakewell, spent quite a lot of time there myself camping

Getting so drunk, that when i got a itch on my back, i forgot to put my pint down and duly poured it down my back, cured the itch mind you, but the walk back to the campsite was not that pleasant Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Ended up at the Lakes, photos are mainly us wakeboarding and stuff

But the drive home Monday night was superb, the setting sun hitting the mountains and hills, no traffic as I set off back at 9pm after a meal Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
