Ginger - 20s? Are you sure about the eco mode? Not being cheeky but the button on the boiler is very misleading. Check the manual to make sure it is off - visually I felt it was the wrong way round. Mine is 100% off and it takes way more than 20 seconds to get hot water from the tap. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

I presume its "off" as the Eco button is pressed and illuminated and never hear the boiler spooling up occasionally to keep the water warm.

I'll time it when I get home but it doesn't feel like longer than 20s. I have found that if you only have the tap on a little it takes FOREVER to heat up but whack it open full bore and turn it down again and its very quick to warm.

Wood pellet boiler if the house has a biggish outhouse/garage and a decent epc result.

govt will pay you well for 7 years but it could cost way over 10k to install

According to the sales person of a very large Wood Pellet boiler supplier in the North West who our Consulting Practice dealt with before I retired "Unless you have a free supply of timber/pellets, forget it".

If I moved house to a low epc place id seriously consider wall insulation, cavity or if not possible dry lining the inside of walls. My house cant be cavity walled , dry lining would be major to house decoraations but new house new canvas.
A mate did it on a farm cottage , not so hard to do and rare to see such a 'square' farmhouse, and warm warm warm[/img]

The local housing association in my area is fitting all its older houses with external insulation with a render finish.

The problem with domestic biomass pellet boilers is buying the pellets in bags is very expensive and needs a large storage area, then you need to tip the bags into the hopper on the boiler.
the tariff is paid on estimated energy use rather than real use so you cant 'burn more to earn more'
and tariff is only for 7years

Commercial biomass is large enough to take bulk blown 27tonne deliveris at less than 1/2 price of 10kg bags, no handling of the pellets, and heat is metered so the more you burn the more you earn, limits apply to total tariff
commercial tariff 20 years

Im still considering domestic boiler as I could build a pellet store and get it filled with the cheaper bulk pellets. At work
