Cloth to Leather Seats Upgrade along with armrests

Egged on by a few of the Forum members who carried out Leather Seat Upgrades, I've now completed the Upgrade on my GS, EXCEPT that I have had the leather armrests added to my standard, non electric seat backs.

I first thought of buying some newish leather seats from a well known auction site but having been pipped at the eleventh hour by some other faster Forum members twice, decided to go to plan B. On reflection, I thought how many times do I change the position of my front seats, so Electric seats would be wasted!

So bought a couple of front seats from a breaker from a "wasted" 2013 XS and set about getting the armrests and brackets removed from the seat backs. These were then welded accurately onto my GS seat backs by a local welder.

My new front seat covers in Leather were made by The Trimming Centre in Lewes to match the rear seats that I had bought, which had come from a newly converted Commercial Freelander 2.

To Finish off the Upgrade, New leather capped door cards were purchased along with Piano black door grab covers.

(Whilst the front seats were being recovered in Leather, we added some seat warmers, just in case, when winter comes, I find the seats are freezing cold.)

To say that the result was very pleasing would be an understatement!

Can I ask how much the Lewes company charged? I was quoted an eye watering amount by a company in Peacehaven recently...

Have a chat with Steve Camp - the owner on 01273 325256. He started off with silly numbers but we struck a reasonable deal for me. Having said that, you have to pick the right time to negotiate - this is their busiest time with people wanting there convertibles reupholstered for the summer.
