I know there is supposed to be a high pitched tone/screech when you tern off the engine, they all do but how long is this supposed to last? Pretty sure on my Evoques it only lasted a minute or two but seems to go on for ages on my FL2. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

ive got a 2014 FL2 and that makes the noise for around a minute or so thats all, same as my last 2010 model and my sisters 2007 model.

On my 3 Fl2s, Evoque and DS they all done/do it for no longer than a minute. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Mine does it for about a minute. Then shuts up, various other noises (clonks) as things shut down over the next ten minutes or so. Takes a good ten - twelve minutes to stay quiet though. FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory

Yes I thought about a minute or two. My FL2 seems (often) to do this for around 15+ minutes I believe it is ECU's etc shutting down. My MG ZR does it but for a couple of minutes. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

My SD4 2014 does it regularly - it can go on for 15-20mins. Sometimes it does it even if you only turn the ignition on without starting the engine.

Ive never known a car to do this before. Im told its the throttle body motor resetting - but why does it take up to 20 mins ? And why so loud and high pitched - doesnt sound like a motor at all. Jules
