A fairly firm tug is needed holding onto both sides by the heater controls, it is only clipped in, but very securely !!

Thanks RogB. Just wanted to make sure - you never know whether Landrover might have put a sneaky additional PK screw somewhere and forgot to mention it needs removal. Its going to need a really big tug. Can you recall where the additional clips are so that I can put some leverage in the appropriate area. I've seen the retaining ones towards the top.

You only need to remove 4 screws, theres an extra 2 screws that hold the cubby hole box in place and fasten it to the radio surround. I found that out when I had to remove the radio facia. Looking at the picture the arrows point to the screws holding the sat nav in place or as in my car the cubby box. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker. Gone MY2010 Freelander 2 Manual TD4.e S, Alaska White. |

You're right - you do only need to remove 4 screws, but the arrows point to the 4 screws at the top and have missed the important 2 at the bottom which do have to be removed. Picture shows the bottom lugs.
