AT Tyre pressures

Im running 235/65/17 Grabber AT tyres fitted in January, covered around 5000 miles of mostly A road motorway, which is what my normal week consists of. No passengers and no significant weight.

The manufacturer standard pressure for 'normal' tyres is 32psi all round, according the door pillar which is what I normally run at.

What pressures would people recommend for my tyre/travel type ??

If 32psi is what LR state on tyre placard for that rim size than that's what you should run for everyday use. Air pressure is what carries the load of the vehicle. tyre brand, construction, type have no bearing on their load carrying capacity in general. MY15

Cheers Stuart, wasnt sure if they would be different due to the more aggressive tread pattern. Ive always run them at that pressure anyway but nice to hear from the more educated that ive been doing things right Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up
Only recommended to lower tyre pressure when off-roading in loose sand. Ie beach, desert driving and only if speed is kept to a minimum. Prolonged speed in under inflated tyres can cause irreparable damage due to heat build up causing delamination or even tyre wall failure. MY15

I run mine at 32PSI indicated, although only noticed the other day that they were at 36! I've not touched them since the winters tyres went on in November so either the fitters did it or LR did it at the service is January (or didn't check)

Placard tyre pressure recommendation is always from cold! Always check tyre pressure in the morning and before any travel is done on a tyre as pressures can rise 2 to 4 psi once being used!
Unadvisable to fill a tyre with air which has been driven on for a prolonged period ie always check and fill to correct pressure from cold. MY15

checked mine yesterday before I set off for my 35 mile drive home. always do them either in the morning before i set off or after they have had time to cool off.

Good job i did, 1 was at 32psi, 2 at 31 psi and front offside at 24psi!

will be keeping an eye on that one as I didnt feel much difference in steering/handling except a bit of juddering under braking which has now gone.
