I have got some moisture in the speaker of my iPhone 6 plus and now the loudest sound setting is very low. I am contemplating to order a new loudspeaker myself from the net and fit it. My phone still has the manufacturers warranty but when I phoned apple they said I would have to make an appointment and they will look at the handset but they could not comment what there standard procedure is regarding a faulty loudspeaker

A simple question I asked them was if they would replace the loud speaker or give me a refurbished phone which I rather would not have. Has anyone got the loudspeaker replaced from them or has it been a replacement refurbished iphone ? MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

My experience would suggest they would give you a refurb. In theory nothing wrong with a refurb 6 but I understand why you wouldn't want one.

Of course replacing your own would invalidate your warranty and if you break something in the process of replacing the speaker, you're screwed. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

I dropped my 6 down the bog! Whipped it out quickly and dried it off. Worked fine for about 20 mins then died on me. Tried the 'net solution of leaving it in a bowl of dried rice in the airing cupboard for a few days but with no success. Gave up and took it to the Apple shop and they gave me a refurbed one for about £275 I think. As long as its backed up, all the progs and stuff should be on there when you set up the new one. I suppose you could insist on just having the speaker replaced or just make out that its gone faulty but I understand that there are tell-tales inside the phone that change colour when exposed to moisture.
