Alpine radio Volume Limiter?

I have noticed that on my car's stereo (the Alpine 9 speaker one with single disc) that sometimes the thing seems to limit the volume when it thinks that it is too loud. I cant see anything in the manual about it but I remember I had a Mondeo once that had a similar feature that cut the volume if it got too high to avoid damage to the speakers. Thing was you could turn it off. The FL2's version is irritating as hell and I'm hoping someone knows what to do to get rid? 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..

I have heard you have a speed activiated stereo, which increases the radio volume the faster you drive,

My SE's radio gave me the option to turn this off, it also turns the volume down from full to 25 when it put the CD/Radio back on after a phone call or Sat Nav Lady Directions Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Yeah it's not speed related though. That's separate and I know about that one.

This seems to kick in if you are listening to something bassy quite loud.. if it starts off without the bass , it will be as loud as you set it. Then when a lot of bass kicks in, the stereo noticably drops the volume. 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..

On my Alpine system the volume stays where I put it, with no change regardless of song. Once you've tasted GREY you'll never go back!

I have had chance to try it out this weekend

Got some Biffy Clyro on and turned it up to full Razz

No distorsion on the bass or treble, but also couldn't get it to distort by turning up the Bass and Sub to full Very Happy

On the Disco3 GS, basic stereo, that blew at 25 out of 35

I think the FL2's stereo does have somesort of speaker protection system Exclamation Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
