12v Cigarette Lighter socket still on when car switched off

Hi,

Got a bluetooth receiver in the 12v Cigarette Lighter socket towards the rear seats next to the aux in and when I switch the car off the light on the USB socket is still on. Is this normal and should I be worried?

Thanks.

Glyn Jones

Normal. The front socket is ignition-switched, the rear one isn't.

Must be fairly easy to install a small rocker switch in the supply near to the socket to turn it off manually if you really want it off want to when the ignition is off I would have thought??

Manual I have says engine compartment fuse box F45 for the front (ignition-switched) socket and luggage compartment fuse box FA6 for the rear socket (plus FB10 for the load space power socket if fitted). This is for the earlier cars with rear sockets permanently live.
