Squeeling noise wheel bearing or more sinister?

Hi, I've had my Freelander 2 for almost 3 months now, and love it but it has developed a strange noise.

It's intermitent usually coming on after about an hours driving, and then lasting for 10 minutes or so. Sounds like a high pitched Squeel, changes with speed, tends to lessen and disappear when I use the breaks, more prominent turning right, but still still present in a straight line.

Its a 2010 2.2TD4e Sport.

Thanks in advance.

Likely one or more of your BRAKE pads are binding. Remove pads and clean up, check freedom of movement in calipers. Could be just a stone jammed in caliper. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

my rear nearside wheel was squealing and grinding on manouvering and when first pulling away after parking. Guessed it was the handbrake and sure enough the handbrake pretty much failed shortly afterwards

Garage stripped it down and had to use heat to free up the siezed mechanism. Turned out the non LR main dealer that I bought it from last year had replaced the rear pads, but had put it all back together wrong and then bodged it to get the handbrake working.

been having the same problem, turns out the inner brake pad on the off side had cracked in half through the friction material, swapped the discs at the same time as the hand brake drum was a rusty mess, auto so never use hand brake[img]

I'm away with work at the moment, but when I get back I'll definetly strip them to see if anything us wrong. Thanks for the replies.
