My ex-demo MY13 HSE is the standard model, only extra is an alloy spare wheel. I got them to fit side-strips on the doors, which they quoted for but forgot to charge me for. It has clear glass, but the windscreen is heated (standard fit). Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Privacy glass - a good safety feature which allows you to leave things on the rear seats and in the boot without being seen by prying eyes. It also shades our dogs from direct sunlight and that is a bonus.

If I don't bother with a heated windscreen roughly how long does a FL2 screen take to de-ice in the winter? Is it about the same as most cars or do they have a magic trick? Hippo's videos - Honorary Tratterer |

Obvs you need to scrape the ice off as usual but a plus is the electric heating element in the FR2 heater. Means the demister heats up very quickly. That comment is based on my old MY07. The heated screen on my HSE is certainly quicker! I do find the heating element, visible in certain lights, slightly annoying. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Depends to a large degree just how cold it is and how much frost etc is on the screen. My old XS had a heated screen, it would thaw a light frosting in around 30 secs but if the temperature in the morning was say down below minus 5C and there was frozen rain on it too, it would take around 3 minutes to shift it, still far quicker than a hand scrape though. I would always pick the heated screen option now having had one if I was ordering brand new even though it may only be used occasionally as I park mine in the garage now overnight, but if its outside all the time then its a real bonus in winter. |

I love my heated screen (used for many months of the year). |
