Usually a fair number of wheels come up on here or on e-bay, although quite often in 4s. Used to be easier when they all had more or less standard wheels! If you don't mind having a different pattern then almost any will do, although I'd prefer myself at least to have the same size (all have the same diameter with tyres fitted though - the standard steel spare is 17" for all models). Just keep an eye open and I'm sure one will come up (several on e-bay at the moment). I have in the past bought a cheap set of four and sold the ones I didn't need.

I am looking for one that has the same wheel pattern as my fl2. There is one on eBay 18" wheel + Pirelli tyre that from an evoque, different wheel pattern, and he agreed £100 but I didn't get. I keep the 2 old tyres which has 4-5 mm tread now only need a rim.

Interesting but still do not believe that link fully. It is rolling radius that matters not circumference, and that varies with load, bumps in the road, going round corners etc, which I am sure varies more than a few mm on new:used tyres. Also on FL2 it runs in 2WD mostly unless it detects slip, when the haldex kicks in rearwheels. john FL2 11 S Black 😂 Gone Disco2 TD5 GS |

I thought that only fl2 eD is 2 wheels drive, the rest is permanently 4x4.

No Paxman - unless you go into special programmes, the car is MAINLY 2WD. 4WD kicks in whenever it's needed, eg starting in a straight line, or when wheelslip is detected. Basically, it's a very clever machine. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

If you want to believe your own eyes then go to a friendly tyre retailer and put a couple different brand side by side of the same size and see for yourself the variance in width and height! That may convince you! Before the new set of tyres I experienced engine vibration when trying to pull away at 25-35 MPH in high gear (5th). The vibration was from the engine which amplifies by the console plastic in the middle and below the wind screen. The symptom disappeared as soon as I have the new set. Clearly the budget tyres in the front was the cause for both vibration and low MPG. Before I was getting 36mpg compared to 41 mpg now.

I also agree that tyres should be matched. The vibration that paxman was experiencing is similar to a problem that I was helping a local garage out with.
