United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Orkney Grey
MY 2013 XS Fl2.

Hi every one,

This is my new MY2013 fl2, nothing special just a basic XS with tinted glass and LR tow-bar.

I bought it last week from Lloyd in Carlisle. It has a 13 plate and done 30K. Service history indicated that first service was done as 18+K and the second was at 30K this January. What do you think of the lateness of the first service? I am only getting average 36 MPG driving around town with very little brake and light gas.

The front 2 tyres are new and fitted with 2 budget branch Landsail, made in china. Does anyone use these before please give opinion? The back 2 still has the original Pirelli Scorpion Zero, both have tread about 5mm. I am thinking of replacing all with Michelin latitude sport3 before driving to Spain in the summer. Would replacing the tyres improve MPG?

This freely came without a spare wheel and jack. I just had a jack delivered this morning and am buying an old wheel, 235x60 R18 that comes from a RR Evoque as spare, do you think it will fit to the freely?

Thank.

They look like 17 inch wheels that you have fitted on the car, bit odd to buy an 18 inch one as a spare.

Service is on time or mileage so 18k is a bit late and 30k could be the second year service with only 12k more added.

The vehicle should have the balance of 3years LR warranty on it and the dealer should have made this clear if there was any issue with the service schedule not being within requirements.

I'm regularly getting 40+ MPG on a run with mine and replaced all 4 factory fit tyres at the 48k service last month (Registered Jan 13) Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red
Gone... 2008 (09MY) XS Td4 Manual Stornaway Grey

Also gone in Nov'13, after 7.5 yrs, to new owners with time for more TLC - 1980 Series III 88

Thank Chris
The vehicle registered on April 13 and first service was on Jan 14 with 18.5K miles. It is LR approved vehicle so it is come with 2 years warranty.

Sorry mate, my mistake. They don't seem to fill the wheel arches like 18 inch ones.

Hi Very Happy

That is very cheap tyres. What are your opinions so far in term of grip; wet / dry, MPG and noise etc..?
Just went to Camskill website there arn't any Kenda size 235x60 R18 tyres!

I have found them excellent, and a lot quieter than the original ones. No problems with grip etc since fitted, now 12 months, of driving in Lake District and beyond.
I was at first sceptical about the tyres but had a chat with them before ordering and fitting, they did have an even cheaper ones, but the sales manager recommend these as all-rounders and that a lot of LR dealers buy these from him.
I find that I can easily get up 45mpg on my manual MY10 XS, it depends on your driving.
Just changing to a MY13 auto so will see what the MPG will be.
Cool

You definitely have 18" wheels,as I have a set on my HSE running summer tyres. The original wheels are running winter tyres.
I also have a pair of Landsail tyres fitted to the rear, not by choice, as fitted by dealer when I bought the car. They would not be my preferred choice, but they seem to do the job,so far.

Thank nixonad! I checked camskill website and they don't have my wheel size which is 235 60 18.
I have always used Michelin tyres for all of my normal cars and this is the first time I have a 4x4 vehicle.
I thought the low MPG may be because of the tyres rolling resistance or some issue with the engine; certainly not due to my style of driving.
