Fog lamps

Fog lamps.
I ran into dense fog, with auto lamps on, and when I came out of the “fog-sea”, I heard a click and fog-icons disappeared.
In the next fog, would not the fog lights lit again by auto lamps on, only with Headlamp dipped beam on.
Next day when I started up, again I could not lit the fog lights with Autolamps on, but when I came home in the car port, the fog lights could suddenly lit again.
What is the explanation? LR Freelander2 2,2 Td4 HSE manuel Stornaway Grey (Metallic) & Ebony Black Leather & Sun/Moon-roof & Bi-Xenon & Roof Rails & Tow bar & Body side rubbing strips & Cold climate pack & Privacy glass & NavTeq . Production Date: 11/5-2007 in Halewood.

I don't think the fog lights can be lit by autulights as I cannot see how the sensors can "feel" the fog. The fog lights, as far as I know (front and rear) can only be lit with dipped beam on and only manually.
Nevertheless if while drining in fog with dipped lights on autolights and fog lights on when you got out of the fog and the sensor did not consider that dipped lights were still necessary when the dipped lights were switched off than the fog lights would also be automatically be switched off as they work only together with the dipped beam. FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER

The sensors can not feel fog, but they notice that the light changed.
I have now in a poorly illuminated car port put on the fog-light with autolamp on.
See attached picture.

= Autolamps on.

Out of the car port in daylight, the fog-icon and the icon for the light down to the right of "revs counter" disappear. (Out of the Fog = out of the car port) Surprised
Conclusion: When the above-mentioned icon for the light is lit, the fog-light can be set in all settings but "0". (2. Side lamps on.3. Headlamp dipped beam on.4. Autolamps on.)

I hope that my assumption can be confirmed by ... LR Freelander2 2,2 Td4 HSE manuel Stornaway Grey (Metallic) & Ebony Black Leather & Sun/Moon-roof & Bi-Xenon & Roof Rails & Tow bar & Body side rubbing strips & Cold climate pack & Privacy glass & NavTeq . Production Date: 11/5-2007 in Halewood.

In Scandinavia the light should be on 24 hours / 365 days.

I always run with AUTOLAMP on. When the fog comes, I put on the fog light, and it has worked every time.
Never previously experienced Fog lamp will turn itself off.
It is thus great automation I have, (I thought), but
unfortunately it was not put on for the next fog. When I was nervous of course, and therefore this topic.
But with the passage of time you will be wise ...

It is not by itself, but it goes off.
Should we call it semi-automatic?

I find on auto lights in daylight even if the fog is quite thick they don't necessarily come on by themselves (the headlights I mean) Neutral

Let me explain a bit clearer.......

Autolights set to come on automatically, you are driving along in daylight, it gets very foggy, the lights do not come on themselves as thick fog can sometimes still be quite bright and the lights work on brightness not fogginess.

Ok time for a lie down Whistle

yeah I do the same.
The only cool time is when you go in and out of a tunnel and the lights go on and off themselves. Thumbs Up
