If it were me I would wait until I had the roof rack on, always easier to take off than add to.

Ha ha, the arse floats well
But the front stays put, twice I have come very close to killing the engine
I've been very lucky, air filter saturated in Walter/sand
Two weeks later air box had lots of mud in + very wet again

The snorkel looks too high & too round. It needs some profiles here & there. Can you kitbash something like a http://bapoffroad.com.au/products/landcrui...=680105630 It has more bulk lower down so it looks lighter up top.

Put the roof racks on to get a better feel of the finished height. You may also need to get into car parking stations etc.

Half a dozen bags of cement in the back should make its ar-- behave. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

One should leave the cement in the bag so if it gets wet then it's 20 kg at a time to remove & not a demolition hammer. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

i think the top piece looks too oversized for the car, is there a smaller alternative or one that you can manufacture that sits a bit flusher with the body line ?

either way it may stop the mud being thrown up the passenger window Razz

I have been watching this thread from the start and think that for a home made snorkel its turned out quite well.
Trying to deal with the shapes involved using off the shelf components to balance form and function is the hardest part and whilst there are some tweaks that could be made I don't think you could get it much better, even land rover couldnt get the offical snorkel for the d3 to look right from the front view.
Would it look a bit more streamlined with the ram top turned backwards, desert style?
Thumbs Up
