If by Aux lead you are simply plugging one end into the aux socket in the centre console and the other end into the headphone socket of the ipod, then no, this is not an incompatibility thing. The output will be the same regardless of what device you are using. If it isn't working, either the headphone socket of the ipod, the aux socket or the cable is faulty. Matter of process of elimination there.

In that case it probably is. Although not in an LR, I have found that devices listed as not compatible often work just fine, but if it doesn't work, chances are it never will. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

I've got the USB gubbins in my MY2010 - it has an Apple 30 pin lead and a USB lead. I plug my iPhone into the Apple connector via a 30 pin to Lightning adaptor. The iPhone will NOT work if I just plug a Lightning lead into the USB port. Which one are you plugging your iPod into? |

Ah I see. Does the 2013 come with a USB socket only then? The one I have is a factory extra for the earlier models and has a control box with a round din socket which takes a specific Apple lead (ends in 30 pin) and also a USB which as far as I can see is only for more generic MP3 players and USB sticks. As I said, that USB socket doesn't work with Apple products. |

Yep. Usb only I think. My newer iPod has worked in the past so I assume it's the old iPod that can't communicate with the car |

My old iPod (1st gen) works fine with the charging lead plugged into the USB port. It does sometimes lose the connection if not used for a while. |

Hi, if I unplug and then replug at the iPod end it reconnects or I just leave it and it bursts into life. I think it's because the battery in the iPod is so old it doesn't hold it's charge so needs a short time to revive. |

Tried this a few times the other day - unplugging and plugging back in at the Ipod end but nothing ... It just said Track 1 on my vehicle display and nothing was happening on the stereo, although the Ipod was clearly playing since the progress bar on the Ipod was moving ie the track was playing.

Just checked and the lead is not the charging one, it also has a mini jack that plugs in! So I guess it's powered and control is from usb and audio from the jack. I Forgot I had that lead.
