My 2011 SD4 auto GS with extras sold for £11.5k, 80k miles and was mint, you will get more for your money than you think, especially as the weather warms and prices drop, Happy Hunting |

I came from a D2 which I absolutely loved to a 07 FL2 with 80,000 miles.I have had it now for nearly 18 months with the only problems being sticking rear brake shoes and glow plugs not working, both were easily repaired by my self on my drive. The fl2 does everything I expected from my D2 only better including towing my caravan which my D2 was rubbish at, ok it's a bit smaller but now the kids have grown up and there is only me and the wife and the dog thats not much of a issue. |

On my second FL2, sold my 07 SE in January with 150k only issue I had in 4 yrs ownership was clutch slave cylinder (changed complete clutch) Wife also has an 07 with 110k and no issues in 5 years of ownership, we are looking to change hers to a newer model too. As you can tell we are big fans, my M3 has only done 3k in last 2 years as I find it hard to walk pass the FL2 to climb into the M. 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Another member of the club here. I found the D2 getting unreliable at 10 years old, and am now on my second FR2. I would suggest - avoid the base model (not enough bells and whistles), don't worry about satnav (easy to retrofit, see threads on here), get the most up-to-date model you can, as I think age is more important than mileage, get a good warranty just in case (if a private seller has a Land Rover extended warranty they can pass it on to you), but bear in mind that there is a very expensive service somewhere around 100k (can't remember exactly when, but involves cam belt etc).

I too moved from an ageing D2 to FL2 in 2007; still got it on 89k now, best car I've had ever!

Cam belt change is recommended at 150k so thats really your first big cost service, if you go by the book every service up til then is pretty much standard costs. Anything extra you have pre-emptively serviced (gearbox/diff oils, brake hoses etc) is personal choice.
