Wheel arch hiss?

Our Freely has no aircon, we only just got it, so were planning on just getting it regassed now the weather is warming up a bit in the UK.
This morning after driving only a hundred feet or so I pulled up to pop into a shop at the end of our road, and heard a hiss for about 5 seconds from the drivers side wheel arch. I was just squatting down to see if I'd got a nail or something in my tyre, when the noise stopped.
I'm wondering if the hiss was the aircon compressor leaking?

Are you sure it was not throttle body whistle? John

The more I think about it it wouldn't have been the aircon, the bottle unit behind that arch liner is the washer bottle isn't it, not the aircon compressor.

Perhaps it was a nail in the tyre, will keep an eye on it

Throttle body whistle with the engine off??

It happens when the engine shuts down. Mine does it for about 30 seconds. John

I've had this once too. Left the house, got a few hundred meters up the road and realised we forgot something so turned back and dropped SWMBO off and turned it round. When she came back out she said there was some weird noise coming out the FR wheel arch.

Got out and stuck my head in there and heard the nose you're describing and then it stopped shortly after. Never heard it again and definitely not punctures.

Thanks, that answers it perfectly. Certainly not a flat, now several days on.
Thanks
