Hdc fault after turning at speed.

Hi I have an issue with my hdc.

When driving normally in a straight line there is no issue.

But if iI get to a speed of approximately 15—20 mph or above and then turn I get a Hdc fault and abs and Dtc lights show on the dash.

I have fitted extra earth strap.

Battery with engine off is 12.6v
engine on 14.5v

Can anyone help as I have an mot next week.

I have had a problem with my ccruise control not working above 40 mph for about a year.

Could this be an abs sensor?

Can't say for sure but I had probs with my cruise control and various other of the electronic "gizmos" on my BMW which turned out to be caused by a dodgy ABS sensor. Everything worked fine once it had been replaced. Sounds suspiciously as if you have something similar!

Just a thought but have you changed any tyres recently? A friend of mine had similar strange things happening just after having some new tyres and found that one was a different size. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

As said above sounds like an ABS sensor fault

Could possibly be a wheel bearing, causing the sensor to misread. Common fault on the Disco 2 (cured by replacing the BCU - early models were over-sensitive!) but I haven't heard of it on the FR2. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

As with all modern cars, get it plugged into a diagnostic computer which should show the fault. Gone are the days of trying to guess - well nearly Thumbs Up * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

Took it to indie garage today.

Needed a new abs sensor and wheel bearing on the front right.
Replaced both part to be sure.

All is OK now.

Even my cruise control now works.

Probably one or the other, but you were sensible to replace both. The sensor gap is very sensitive, so if the wheel bearing starts to allow a bit of play the sensor can mis-read. Glad it's sorted! Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
