The engine management light came up on my wife's 58 FL2 TD4 2.2 today. Read code with my plug & play reader. Came up with P02E5 (unidentified code pending). Presumably relating to the throttle body housing & motor. Priced one up at around £100. Had a look on the forum for details relating to this code, happy change housing myself. I've now deleted code, drove it twice since. Code has not come back, as yet. Is it possible it could jut be a spurious code?
Also the old 20 second whistling noise has now gone, after engine is switched off. Relating to pos worn gears?
Would it also now be worth blanking my egr valve off? Whilst I'm on.
Not that I've ever had any egr related running faults in 84k of motoring.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Update,
Code has come back again.
Going to order & fit a new throttle body & motor.
Fitted, took me a little while longer than I expected, due to dropping a connecter on the sump guard. Had to take pan off to get it Got there in the end

Mine has just started shuddering on shutdown. Booked into Duckworths on Wednesday - throttle body change I think!

Ecu light on? If so would be worth having your codes read or buying a code reader. Part usually Costs around £100. Direct from Landrover was £130 plus vat. I bought a genuine one off eBay.
If you were going to have ago yourself, a torx set. Short reach flat headed screw driver would be useful. Screwdriver to undo the hose clip that attaches the undearneath of the motor. Bit tight to get too. So are some of the bolts. Landy has now gone.

I didn't have much look with the select used warranty we had from the dealer, when we bought the landy around 3 years ago. Needed a new front wheel bearing. Wasn't covered, as not an mot failure lol. Seemed to cover everything, but what we needed it to.
Good luck with it. I think it should be covered, if ECU light is present.

Yes, the Select warranty is a bit limited, the "Approved" warranty is a lot more comprehensive, but costs more! Had three expensive faults covered in the past 12 months, so I have had my money's worth!

Yes, re the EGR, jury is still out with me, there will be a penalty on short journey warm up, which will kill fuel consumption for short journeys - not that it is anything to brag about at the mo'!

True, a lot of manufacturers have used them.
Suppose on the pre 2011 models, we also have the option of blanking off the egr to minimise the risk. If we wanted to. Landy has now gone.

I replaced the glow plugs a few weeks ago and found that one of the swirl flaps had broken off,fortunately it was stuck in the manifold so I removed all of them and so far no problems and I also have my egr blanked.If I hadnt read about them on here I wouldn't have know to look for them.

You got lucky there then.
Do you have to remove the manifold to take them out?
