How long should I allow to change all 4 discs and pads on my 3.2i FL2

I have access to tools and a decent trolley jack and a large garage.

I have done discs before on a 3 series

Easy job, about 3 cups off tea I'd say

I did the rears on mine and found I needed handbrake shoes as well,, local factor didn't have them instock so I had to pay dealer price ouch

Anywhere between 3 hours and 12 hours. I see your Freelie is 2007; it all depends upon the progress ôf rust.

The problems might be discs seized to the hubs being jammed with rust equally the handbrake adjusters might be siezed so you might have a fight getting the rear discs off.

You need an early morning start and don't expect it all done in a day.

You were right,took all day!

Only I didn't do them

Took it to my local garage who fitted the new discs, pads and the brake shoes and did the MOT for £200

Car passed with no advisories - now on 131,000

That's good, you couldn't buy LR parts for that price and do an MOT so I guess they weren't LR?

Speaking of which my daughter was quoted £190 recently to replace front discs and new pads all round on a Renault Megane by a Renault dealer. I priced up using genuine Renault parts (it's under warranty) and it came to over £200 just for the parts. Strange pricing or perhaps Renault Dealers don't use their own parts. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
