Love the wheels Mav. Think side vents and side steps in shadow chrome would look good. Maybe the front grill and back boot handle too. You have to cut the old box off, but you're get the replacement silencer with a section anyway. They is a story on the fitting early on in this Biography. The diesel and petrol box's are the same anyway, only the diesel has one exit pipe rather than two, which actuall give a slightly better flow through the box, so you could argue that this is a more efficient silencer to run. I ran one for over 6 years on my old FL2 TD4 without issue, my old car didn't have a DPF and there was no issue with soot either.. With the Bluefin, my old car was just shy of the 200bhp mark after a rolling road session. Of course cars with DPF don't smoke anyway. No difference on noise either. Just as quiet. If you think about is, the Evoque SD4 and TD4 run twin exhausts. there is 100% no downsides. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. I may do the side steps, but I have this thing about drifting away from what would be deemed a factory look. I'll never do anything that clearly looks out of place. So the handle on the rear in black is a no no. OEM+ all the way for me! I like it that only those in the know, will see what is modified and what isn't. Those who don't know, won't think anything has been done to the car. That's the philosophy I have always worked on and like doing. I have a set of gloss black side vents on the way which will be done shadow chrome. As the shadow chrome process starts with gloss black, it is the ideal base to start. At least with this, I can swap back to the silver vents when I have the winter wheels on so it all ties in. I'll do the same with the steps, have another set in shadow chrome. Yes I'm the same, factory look all the way. The only thing that isn't on the outside of my freely is crystal clear side repeaters which I think look so much better and more in keeping with the later front and rear lights. I'll look forward to seeing the results when you've got the extra bits painted. Mav71 I think this will look great on your car as it's black! Is actually consistent with the rest of the LR range. |
