I just bought the same spots and a second grill. Just to be safe
I�m so looking forward to start the new project.
Especially my car is black and I have some orange applications on it.
E.G. Water Limit sticker and my rims which I drive in the winter.

So I would be gratful if you could reply and share your experiences

Hi, no not got around to wiring up yet, been a bit busy recently but planning to do so tomorrow.
I've already purchased a pre-made heavy duty wiring loom.

Just be aware that the trim on the lamps is actually red, not orange (as I expected).
So I stripped my lamps and used Orange plasti dip to change them.

According to amazon, my spots are arriving on monday. Could you tell me please, which HID�s fit in the spots?
D1S or D2s? Couldn�t find any information about this in the description.

Sorry, never paid attention to the bulbs that are already fitted.

All I know is that I went for the 55w option over the 35w

No problem.
Thats interesting. My HID�s are 55W and are to cheap to have already bulbs inside.
But whatever. I�m just gonna wait

Decided I'm keping the Spots, so today went out and readied everything for wiring up.

For those interested in mounting spots similarly, these are the brackets and how I secured them.
The area of the bottom grill is double skinned [sandwithced at the back but with a gap at the front] so I used a combination of straight through bolts, plates & washers along with self tapping screws.
You'll also see the securing ball on the top spar [as described below]

Obviously if one looks close up you can see the grill had been cut, but today I've only moved the lights a fraction off the back.
So no you can't really tell.

So hows it going? Got them working yet and if so how good are they?

Well. wired them up a few weeks ago but never really had the chance to use them .....
.... until last night.

Now as usual, videos don't do things any justice.
For example the bulbs I'm running in my headlights are upgraded to Nightbreakers and they are good.
But they look so dim on the opening shot in the video.

Just need to fine tune the beam adjustment now.

 FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

Nice work! Could you tell me how the lights are fitted? I was looking for the threaded rod but I can�t find them in Germany... And how did you mount the bottom of the lights?
I have all parts ready but I�m going to wire them up different as you did. I use a radio controlled switch for offroad use only. Not very legal in Germany but who cares

Wired mine into the main beam using a heavy duty harness & relay....legal here in the UK.

I used the bottom brackets as pictured earlier in the post to secure the base.
I did these initially just as a trial to fit the lights.
Plan was to upgrade them with heavier guage brackets, but they seem to be doing the job ok so I'll just keep them as they are [unless I need to change them at some point].

The 'threaded rods' at the top are 'spot light steadies' and you can pick them up from ebay.

I also bought a metal sleeve that fits over the threaded section of the lamp steadies, which I coloured in orange.
So Spot Light project now finished .... roll on the darker nights.
