Only some wines improve with age, generally your bog standard traditional may last 6 years, some less, beware of anything with a screw cap the jury is still out on them, (plastic hardening and airtight seal) Curvee and fondateur tend to be the longer lasting wines. There is no guarantee any wine will improve with age, though the better ones should. As to what is a good wine, that is personal, there is no reason why a few highly paid experts are right in assuming that certain wines are great. I prefer a smooth wine that is easy drinking and after a bottle or two I have no hangover in the morning, when that is so, it is a good wine, red, white, pink or even blue if there is one my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
