Friday 20th of March there will be an eclipse, though not total for us. The further north you are, the greater the eclipse. Here in Derbyshire it will be approx 88%.

That was taken with a 10 stop filter on the front of the lens, have used welding glass in the last but the colours come out funny.

I got several photos as it went through the phases but didn't use any special lenses or filters, just pointed the camera and took the photo. I did read beforehand that sunlight can damage the sensor in the camera but once the cloud cover arrived and significantly reduced the brightness, I gambled and all seems well.
