What a bloody faff with Wheel nut covers ?

We drive in the Alpes and the local police stop and check before you go over the passes that you have snow chains or devices

Now we have got the FL we have had to buy some Maggi Trak LT50 as these are one of the types approved to be used with FL

But had an absolute bloody nightmare this evening trying to practise fitting these !!!!!!! Big Cry Big Cry

There are some sort of caps on all the the wheel nuts except the locking one, they wiggle but wont come off - no removal tool in glovebox or in tool kit

So tried fitting the Traks with the caps on and got the damn adapter stuck on, couldn't leave it there as if had puncture would never get the wheel off

took an hour of pulling. hitting and swearing to free it Evil or Very Mad

Eventually by continuing to wind the thread in through the cap until it hit the solid wheel nut and it then acted like a puller and pushed the adapter away from the cover/nut

Going to see if i can get them all removed tomorrow as off to italy late afternoon and cant be doing this half way up a mountain in the dark in foot of snow or blizzard

Are the FL wheel nuts 19mm or 21mm ?

The covers seem to be 21mm

I always thought they were covers, when I swapped my wheels, I just got a 21mm socket and wound them off, once off they seem to be in two parts and feel "loose" apparently some sort of in built washer?
My wheels haven't come off so I guess all is well Laughing

No wheel nut covers as standard. As others have said, just use the wrench supplied or a 21mm socket on a ratchet drive to undo and a to4que wrench to tighten.

Thanks for replys and that will be the reason why i could get the caps off them Laughing

at least I can leave for Italy later knowing that if I hit snow and have to put the Traks on I can just kill the nut and wind the adapter off

best look for some spare nuts Laughing

I really don't understand why peole think they are heated? I can sort of understand if it was a 7 seater but still I think any manufacturer would first advertise that the front driver and passanger windows were heated then the middle rows and then the boot Laughing MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Because at first glance it looks exactly like the rear heated screen?

Wheel nuts have covers or are in two parts as I went to get my winters changed today, because the wheels have been off/on a few times and someone has not of taken the care they should have, the outer shiny covers are damaged on mine. They struggled for about an hour then said that I needed new nuts, left me with one wheel without the shiny bits and the winters still on the car! Crying or Very sad Ordered new nuts which will hopefully arrive tomorrow when I can go back and get them changed.
