Sorted it out with the Auto and keyless fob. Insert fob and start the car in the normal way and then stall it - the ignition lights remain on and then you can do the operation with the seat belt 10 times within the minute. Worked fine - silence is bliss!! Very Happy

Another stupid question but how did you stall the auto?

This worked fine for me on my Disco 3 but I am having problems achieving it on the FL2. How do you get the ignition on with the keyless fob?

When you insert the fob the radio works but there is no warning lights etc until you press the start button.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Switching on the ignition

Just found this while reading the manual (sorry)

Switching on the ignition
To turn on the ignition without starting the engine. Do not depress the brake/clutch pedal, press the start/stop button and hold until the warning indicators illuminate, then release the button.

Don't know if it works yet, not getting the car till next monday.

Yes, thanks, that's a lot quieter now.

Is there any way of silencing the door open bong, when the key's still in?

Either reset the window or use silicon to lubricate the window seal the window may be a bit tight.
where did your old door go, did you leave it in a pub or something? At work

The procedure I did was this:

open car
sit in drivers seat
key in ignition
press and hold down start button (foot NOT on clutch) until lights on dash come on
put seat belt in and out 10 times (I only counted 9 Confused ) until a bleep

Job done
