all terrain sytsem fault

Hi Everyone.

you may need to bare with me here as i am asking a question on behalf of my wife Laughing

she has a freelander 2 2009 GS TD4.E and she is getting a all terrain system fault when driving, she has taken it to a dealer and they have a massive amount of fault codes but are not sure what the actual problem is. we have tried the un clipping the plug at the front of the engine as seen on youtube but still the same problem. i have managed to get the fault up just by turning the wheels while not moving as well but it is quite temperamental when it happens.she is not sure whether the cruise control works as she rarely uses it. i have read on here about the battery could be suspect but would like to see if anyone has any opinions on what it could be?

thanks in advance Thumbs Up

Sounds like a wheel sensor. If there are all those fault codes I'm surprised the dealer can't diagnose it. They can just clear the codes and then see what comes back when it's driven. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

Presumably, you have checked the battery and alternator voltages anyway?

Might help if you can give the full fault codes. Question

This would suggest it may be related to the wiring to the sensor so I would be having a poke about there. Alternatively, the Steering Angle Sensor could be another consideration. Wink

If it is indeed ABS sensor related, it should be easy enough do diagnose from live data though. Confused
