I'm just over the border in Derbyshire. I am also on the lookout for a Fox Red when my Chocolate Lab decides he has had enough. Do you know if there are any breeders in the Midlands? Yours looks stunning.

I'm a member of Dove Valley gundogs, the secretary Guy breeds them and is based in Uttoxeter. If he doesn't have any he'll certainly know people.

Ours is from Ettinsmoor kennels, Jill the owner again will know lots of breeders.

Out of curiosity how do your labs cope with getting in and out the freelander? My 9yr old chocolate lab hopped in and out my focus estate with ease. But when i told him to jump in the freely the poor thing couldnt get his back paws high enough, landed on his back heels and fell over 😥 . Ordered a sliding dog ramp now which im hoping you can teach an old dog new tricks.

He seems to have no problem but he's only 1.5 and only just started doing it to protect his hips during his puppyhood. Took him quite a while to get the hang of it but now has no problem, can do it from a sit at the boot edge and leaps straight into the box in one go.

Seen a few people with those ramps and theyve had no problems.

Out 13 year old black lab still manages to jump in the back of the Freelander OK.
