Right, where to begin! I had a chat with the garage earlier and basically they were messing me about with the appointment, which made re actually call somebody else, anyway, long story short, the guy I spoke to said he had never fitted a set of those bushes to a freel 2 ever! Which made me think again, so I called a LR dealer, gave them the part number and asked how many they've ever sold - 2 sets ever since 2006!
The guy that I'd just spoke to said to at least spray some wd40 in them to see if they quietened down, so at least we'd confirm it's those, good idea I thought. So I got home, removed the ns splashshield and was then horrified at what I saw, the ns front mount for the front subframe is not tightened up!!!
I can see some thread of the bolt between the top of the bush and the chassis and there is actually a gap between the two as well. The bush or mount whatever you want to call it, physically isn't touching the chassis at the top, I put a screwdriver in the gap and levered it and low and behold it made the exact noise I've been getting! I can't do it up myself as it's a 21mm that I don't have, but anyway, no use doing that anyway as I need to take it to these jokers first thing and show them so they have nowhere to go with it!
So it also means that the ns lower arm they fitted a few weeks ago wasn't required either, to say I'm fuming doesn't even get close.
My Girlfriend is 6 weeks away from giving birth and drives this thing daily!
Will update tomorrow when I've been down and let rip.
