The dealer has to charge VAT on all he sells if he is VAT registered, because he's paid the VAT doesn't mean he doesn't have the charge it to the customer? Are you getting confused with the adage that a buyer looses 20% as soon as they leave the forecourt as they cannot get the vat back or charge the next buyer for it? |

Land Rover Used Vehicle Locator is showing 41 available nationwide, whether that's any help to you and depending how up to date the site is?

No Taz, I'm working on the issue of why used/pre-registered Metropolis variants, generally ex-LR cars with up to 8000 miles on them seem to be going for as near as or in some cases more than final list, looking at Auto Trader and the like! Dealers are trying to pull a fast one it would seem, and pretending that the old HSE Lux RRP from 2013 (」39k iirc) is still current, when we all know that it dropped significantly with the run-out Metropolis vehicles. For the likes of Lookers/Taggarts/Stratstone etc to be charging the amount that they are for a now obsolete vehicle pre-registered/owned/used would indicate a bit of a fiddle. Still, like any other business, they will charge what the market will bear I suppose...at least it would appear to be helping us existing owners with the residuals (for now!) Foraging near Gaydon....

The trouble with all these listings including the Landrover Approved site is that I don't think you can believe a word they say. I wasted a lot of time and effort on so called pre-registered Metropolis models at Peter Vardy in Aberdeen, only to find they did NOT exist and they only had used ones for sale With about 8k miles on the clock......a complete waste of time.

BTW I would have no problem travelling to the other end of the country if the right car and deal was available. |

Yes, never thought about Red, but it looks great with the Spoiler, Privacy Glass and Side Steps which are already fitted to the car.

That seems to have the same pricing structure as LR use.

Well, picked it up yesterday and delighted - I smiled for 4 years with my old SD4 and am still smiling with my (nearly) new Metropolis. Lots more goodies in this one to play with and looking forward to another 4 years of trouble free motoring.
