Members Location and Posts

As the list of members shows, if you have set your profile location to something witty, as opposed to say an actual location - such as npinks and CG and so many others, the number of posts that you make is significantly higher (npinks leading with near 20,000 posts).

Does this work in other circumstances - should I tell my employer that I've moved to 'Owner of a RED Pen' or 'letting your van tyres down' and ask for a raise?
Am I looking at this the wrong way? Maybe if you make a significant contribution then you get moved to somewhere less mainstream, and not the other way round?

I have absolutely no idea what your point is with this?

Any member can put whatever they want in there, some put witty things, as a way of making a statement, some don't put anything. If the wording is bold and underlined then you can click on it and the map will be shown with the members location. In my case I have set Lancashire, if you click it will take you to my location, well not exactly, it's about 500 yards away.

strange, since you can't search by what it written in the location box, i don't see how that matters

I personally wouldn't list my exact location down anyway for obvious reasons Rolling Eyes Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

It was late when posting, so it didn't make much sense, sorry, and certainly wasn't supposed to be taken seriously!

I was just noting the correlation between top posters and the location descriptor being not an actual location, so was wondering about the psychology behind it is all lol.
