I've got evoque alloys with my summer tyres on. Went to the local car cleaning place few weeks ago and whatever they cleaned the wheels with almost looks like it's a limescale type mark on them. Are the alloys painted , lacquered

If you care about your car, and most on Forums do, you wouldnt trust your car to be washed by these guys. Quick rub down with a gritty sponge anyone? Shocked Shocked Shocked

I would rather urinate on my car than trust it to a place that washes a car in five minutes with a bucket of water that resembles oil!

A good compound and dual action polisher will get those marks out the wheels.

I have always used Cif on alloy wheels followed by a wax polish.
Works really well.

I was sat in Sainsburys yesterday, watching the foreign gents washing customers cars. They used the
same sponge for bodywork, wheels and windows! I have never had anyone clean any of my cars! 2013 Dynamic Santorini black

Funnily I too was in Sainsburys on Saturday. One of the cleaners asked if I would like a wash. I told him I would rather cut my nuts off with a rusty knife. He did not understand and asked again, I politely told him no. On exiting the store he was "washing" the car next to mine, the state of the substance he was sloshing 0n it had to be seen to be believed, I've seen cleaner liquid drained from a sump. How do they get away with it? The swirls must be horrendous. FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory

I'd like to know how they are allowed to operate! Do they pay income tax? Do they have planning
permission? As soon as a garage or shop closes, they are there!! Evil or Very Mad 2013 Dynamic Santorini black

There are many 'car washes' around these parts, some purportedly with rather a lot of money going through the books, there is also a large drug industry, I will let you draw your own conclusions. Whistle

I like when they put the cloths on the floor, stand on them, pressure wash them, then wipe down your paintwork Rolling with laughter p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior
