Better mpg after service?!

Having recently had my first annual service, I've noticed a significant improvement in mpg in my TD4 SE Auto. It's now averaging similar mpg to when it was brand new 32 - 34 mpg. Razz Whereas prior to the service it was more like 30 mpg over quite long distances, andworse in town or short trips. Sad

Anyone else noticed an improvement after a service?

England 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Santorini Black

Still a few miles to my first service (done 6,500 so far), but I am hoping the MPG improves after the first one. Hunters in Guildford have told me that my 30mpg is about right for a mixture of driving. Considering LR quote 37mpg thats over 20% lower. Even on a 70mph long journey I won't get more than 36mpg. For anyone who's ever owned a BMW and returned figs on or around the manufacturers mpg number, that's pretty disappointing. Sad 08 Santorini Black HSE manual with DAB and privacy glass

Thats a very respectable MPG there Youngie, even if the journey was a bit....lets say boring.... at that speed. I guess mine would be as good but I'm not that patient Whistle ______________________

heh yes on paper it looks boring but i assure u it wasnt .mostly kept under 70mph but there were several overtaking manouvres where i may have hit 72 mph Whistle played with cruise control quite a lot on the way back. which i find very good - and easy to use compared to the zafira vxr 's i traded in.

ive had a few motors in the last 12 months but nothing comes close to this.
The wife is well happy as i might keep this one more than 6 weeks lol.

people said i would be happy with it compared to the old fl1.

permanent grin restored!!!!!!
