Taz - seats run off 5A fused circuit so I guess less than 60w. The cable to cigarette lighter is larger dia. Than that in seat harness and in fairness likely hood of operating both seats for prolonged period is very low. However, as a belt and braces approach an inline fuse could be fitted.
We are only talking about power for adjustment - heating is not in the equation. It's a whole different scenario

Thumbs Up I had visions of someone trying it .. Then posting my new seats smell funny Laughing

Where did you manage to source the leather? I have been wanting to do the same for my 58 XS but haven't found anything suitable yet.

Hi Ron great post.

"Was delighted that I was able to keep my centre armrest/cubby box - didn't reckon that would be possible with the seats armrests, but operates just fine"

I never noticed a centre armrest/cubby box in the pics?
I have armrests but would like some extra storage instead of the cup holders.
Is it possible to retrofit the ebay armrest/storage with existing seat armrests?

Three sets of leather interiors have been up for grabs over the last few weeks from a well known auction site.
I got one, and another member got two, so plenty about.

Armrest/cubby box is under the seat armrests, you can just see the top of it in the pics.
The lid lifts up between the two armrests for access to the cubby box.
Also you have the choice of using the seat armrests or the cubby box armrest ..... spoiled for choice really.
Will take a pic of it for you if you want ?

Mrs ronp doesn't need to know costs ....... it's just car maintenance. Wink

Funny that every delivery we get for SWMBO, she tells me is in the sale, so was a bargain! Mind you everything I spend on the FL2 we both benefit from.......... come to think of it, I benefit from what she buys in the sales as well Neutral ! Laughing

OK Joe, just for you [and anybody else with leather and front seat armrests], you'll see in the pics that the cubby box/armrest does indeed fit between the front seats and the lid will also open with armrests in the downward position.
My lid does kiss the passenger armrest slightly, but no big deal as it does open ok.
Later on I'll just reposition the lid a little towards the drivers side.

I also added silver strips to all four door cards, just brightens things up a little.
Already did this with my previous door cards and after not having them on the leather ones I quite missed them ... but not anymore Thumbs Up

Thanks Ron, All has become clear.
As you know on ebay they say this cubby hole is not possible if you have seats with armrests.
It does give some valuable storage space.
I like the strips on door cards.
Great mod Ron, well done and thanks for sharing.
