99p boot light mod

Having got fed up with the light in the boot being blocked out every time you put things in there and inspired by the ikea light mod ( thanks to xtd5 for technical confirmation) I decided to have a go at sorting something out.
As I wasn't sure how well things would work out I bought a section of flexible led strip off ebay from hong kong for 99p for a first trial. Well today I fitted it to the rear head lining with Velcro, wired it up to the existing boot light running the wires behind the d pillar trim and under the edge of the roof lining, and have to say that I am really impressed with it.
It makes such a difference and also lights up the ground at the back of the car, it's so good that it will be staying as it is, no need for a mk 2 version.
Just a couple of poor quality phone pics.

Its a simple thing but makes a real difference doesn't it.
I was going to get a set of those but wasn't sure if they would be too heavy to Velcro to the head lining , although I did think about one on each d pillar however I now realise that might have been too bright.
What do you think about the quality and brightness of them, as I still may get a set but for another project.

Currenlty velcroed, but likley I'll run some fine wire round it to keep it in place...

That's a good bright light, I think I will get a set of those for another little project.

That is a big improvement. I think there'll be a few of us giving that a go Smile

Saw this post and was inspired to do my own mod with a 12volt led kitchen down lighter ...This gives out excellent light and looks ok as well I think . Light from amazon £8.99.
