They have more or less not been working for the last 2 months, in which time its rained, snowed and been sunny.

Are your reversing lights working? If not it could be the reverse switch on the gear change rather than the reversing sensors themselves. Mine occasionally fails to turn on either reversing lights or sensors - a nudge on the gearstick usually sorts it. |

The sensors are so bad that everytime it rained mine would stop or stay on. Cured this by Halfords silicone spray, now everytime I wash it I go around after and spray loads on all the sensors and sinse it has been good as gold. On the back its really easy to lay down under the bumper and remove all the sensors and to get to the wiring plug, which is on the drivers side up in the bumper

So I can remove and replace the sensors without taking off the bumper?

Yes you can, just need to lay under the bumper with a touch then look up inside the bumper Freelander 57 plate XS Blue Auto |

Hi guys, I fixed my reversing sensors today. Exactly the same symptoms as the OP, sometimes they worked, sometimes they didn't. Recently they had stopped completely.
