Hi all, my boot lid has started creaking/groaning on opening/closing and assuming I can find which point is making the noise, should it be as simple as libricating it? If so, what should I use? Never had to do anything like this so no idea!

Ok thanks. I have dry silicone lube for my bikes - would that do the trick? |

I had this and found it was the rubber stops on the catch causing the noise. Bit of vaseline did the trick. Andy

Mine happens well after the catch has disengaged so think it is either hinges or struts. |

My drivers side is on off doing this, when I had a look at the strut its oil out which has dryed and gone sticky ( will replace later on ) I did give it a very quick wipe which stopped it moaning so much Freelander 57 plate XS Blue Auto |

Had same problem to. Used a touch of oil that I use on my bike chain on the struts. Don't know if this will effect any rubber parts etc but it has stopped it squeaking. |
