Gaining access to the front cross member

If I remove my grill by breaking the plastic welds on a MY14 vehicle can I see the front cross member at all or is this hidden by the actual bumper?

I only need to see the top of the cross member as I need to make bracket supports for my A Bar and then it will be a neat mount Thumbs Up

Any help or pictures welcome as I will be tackling the job this weekend...... MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

2012 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black

I've just this weekend had the bumper off mine to replace the grille part which was stained by something, I know not what. The grille section has plastic welds all over the place, some quite low down and I had to grind them all off to get the replacement free and to get my old one off. Someone on the forum reported that they had done it without removing the bumper I think, but I can't see how that can be done. Two of the bolts, the ones that go vertically, are a bit of a pain to extract but other than that it's straightforward enough to follow the PowerfulUK video.

Here's a pic of what's behind the bumper.

I don't think you'll be able to break the welds without breaking the grille nor without access to the rear of the grille and that would mean removing the bumper. The grille has a piece that extends downwards and finishes up behind the black lower air intake.
