What is meant by modification I can understand some points but not others, fitting certain accessories, yes/no or fitting new parts such as Brake Pads and Discs or tyres, that are of a lesser quality than the manufacturer fitted items, could be regarded as a modification But when a few stickers and the the heinous crime of fitting a second cigarette lighter in the rear

Is a Freel2 sticker classed as a modification
What about the dealers stickers, can understand people being mocked for having a Stratstone sticker, but is it a mod

A modification is anything that makes your car more desirable for theft or damage

If you have two cars one with posh big wheels one without that would make the one with more desirable for theft

Likeswise a large religious sticker could attract Satens followers and it been keyed etc Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I'd have said that the "Christ must be saviour" modification makes it less of a target for car theft, so should deliver a lower premium!  ...

However, consumable parts such as bulbs should largely be exempt from declaration. Afterall, a bulb can go and need to be replaced. In simple terms the car should remain how it left the factory! If anything is altered in any way then it is classed as a mod! Seems you can't fart in your own car with out calling up your insurer

The way I see it is just phone it in. I told my insurance company that I had fitted both winter tyres and a spare set of alloys to the ST and they didn't charge anything. They made a note of the tyres but didn't care about the spare rims!

What I see is its classed as a Mod to fit an extra socket, but you can fit a bargain basement set of ditch finders but that's ok

me neither, I do remember having one in a Maestro van, 25 years ago, had a job in London and ventured into an underground car park, took out all the flourescant lights as I forgot to take the aerial off
