The HSE Lux has front and rear climate seats, which are fiddly compared to the rest of the ranges heated seats. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Ipanema Sand

I was being picky, It was a lovely drive.
I think colour although a matter of opinion has an impact on how the car looks on the road. The Firenze looked really good, the grey a little non descript and the white just looked dirty Laughing . No Loire blue on show unfortunately.
Going for Cirrus was a good choice. When we shut the sliding roof it was really too dark with the black interior trim.

Can you spec the bonnet airbag cover in body colour ? _________________

I really don't like it in white, it does nothing for it. The rear lights ain't the best either.

It's a shame about the driving postion but ain't too much of a problem for me, I spent a year with the Evoque. It took me a while to get used to it though. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

I don't mind the rear lights, but the bumper insert and colour of this particular DS brought back some bad memories... Whistle

Yeh, some aspects of the styling are a bit cringe worthy.

Only time the pedestrian airbag is body colour is when you order grey Laughing. I thought the ebony interior was a bit claustrophic, which left me with cirrus or almond. Cirrus I thought would suit the blue more than almond, plus I always fancied a biscay/Baltic blue Fl2 with the storm interior, I think it was a tad darker than cirrus but didn't seem to be an option very long. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

It stood out on this car because it was a black & white theme, with a slab of grey which is right in the drivers eye line.
My teenage son suggested that if a pedestrian is daft enough to get run over perhaps an optional snow plough would be better at protecting the car. Not entirely sure he gets the point of the airbag Confused

Sorry to hear that. I looked out for your car but that explains why I didn't see it.
Hope you mend soon Thumbs Up _________________

I have had 4 cracked ribs, it's not funny if one has to cough or sneeze. Always have a pillow at hand, hold it against your chest & wrap your hands around the pillow pulling it tightly against yourself, if you are quick enough before a sneeze! Failing having a pillow just your own arms without a pillow is better than nothing. Took me about 6 weeks to recover. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Not impressed with the looks

I saw one at Marshalls in Ashford last week.
I am very un impressed with the appearance. Nondescript is the best I can think of. It could be anything but a Landrover who always had attractive, boxy, distinctive shapes. As I'm guessing the engines and interiors are much the same as the current Freelander I wont be rushing to swop mine.

The interior is more spacious and more comfortable than the Freelander IMO. I was listening to various conversations after test drives yesterday, and the "non descript" & "beigeness" was one I heard more than once.
Having said that, the Firenze car looked really good, so colour will have an effect.
I really did like it but at 45k for the one I drove, I couldn't justify the cost over the Freelander at the moment. _________________

I agree about the high price also putting me off and I've just read that a full size spare is not available. That alone makes it a non starter for me. I wont even bother with a test drive.
LR don't seem to have thought this through, if it's supposed to be a FL2 replacement, they seem to have missed what most FL2 drivers want from their cars.

I think LR have over thought the DS rather than under thought it, they have tried to get the upper hand over their rivals at the expense of some useful features. I find it amusing that my 5+2 seater could well follow a foreign market 5 seater down the production line but I can't have one.

The 3rd row seating is a waste of space to me but doesn't put me off, I would prefer under floor storage for tow ropes, hi-viz etc, I keep a box in the boot of the D4 for that sort of stuff at the moment. I don't have kids but some of my relatives do and they don't drive so may come in useful, I think I've used the D4s twice in a year.

HSE Lux, to me anyway, isn't worth the extra over the HSE, sometimes I look at my spec and think is it really worth the best part of £40k, it's the most expensive car I've ever bought and probably the last, I normally stick to entry level cars. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

I think you can be assured that in future prices will be pushed as high as the market will bear ... This quote from Autocar:

“At the end of the day, we are not looking to be a volume player,” said Jaguar Land Rover CEO Ralph Speth. “Our goal is to build one vehicle less than there is market demand for.
