SD4 Auto dynamic MPG in all this snow and ice

Just interested to see what other members are getting. My SD4 Auto dynamic is doing around 22 mpg ... Been commuting for weeks in snow, ice , spent 3 hours to get about 4 miles in totally grid locked Bradford the other night .... Car is running and sounding spot on ... Anybody else getting crap winter MPG? Normally around 32-35 mpg. The car has been amazing , not even a wheel spin ... Love it ... Seems loads better in snow and ice than my old 07 td4 XS manual. 2007 freelander 2 XS td4 Stornaway Grey .... GONE

I know mine is an earlier model but it has dropped from around 32mpg down to about 26mpg
just thought it was the fact that everything is turned on and also the age it takes to warm up when
the weather is down near zero

Reduced MPG due to using more "electricity"?
Aircon, heaters etc...
It's not something I check.
Nor do I seek out cheapest filling station. SD4 HSE Lux Orkney Grey,Full size spare tyre,Ugly kid glass.

Perhaps MPG is not the way to measure consumption in winter, look at it as about gall / hour in heavy traffic, your 4 miles the other night you used just under 3 gallons. doesn't help the average MPG Sad my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
2012 HSE SD4 In Orkney Grey now gone, best car ever.

I'm getting around 30-32 currently, it does involve some 20 mile or so runs on motorway and fast A roads which will help, with my previous car I was up and down the country and regularly got 38+ with all the longer runs.
Being an auto too affects the mpg and needs to be driven sympathetically in towns, a stomp n steer approach will kill the mpg.

Mine dropped to 22 this week, but that's because I've just been doing runs about town on a cold engine. Took it out for a ten mile run today and the mpg started to climb straight away - it's back up to 25 already. MPG on a cold engine is terrible. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

I too had had everything on during this cold weather ..seats , screens & steering wheel Whistle
Up till then with a mix of motorway and town always had 30+

Scotland 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Fuji White

Good motorway journey on cruise at 70mph 42mpg.
Regular 50 mile round trip normal 2 way road reasonably busy 34MPG quiet day 38 possible.
70 miles forest tracks as course car ahead of rally with timekeeper often in GGS. 26MPG
300 miles on single track roads on Isle of MuLL mixed driving, 50% stop start for passing places and other 50% in sport mode and in a hurry. Average for weekend 28mpg.
All in all I was very pleased with results and have never checked since.,
These figures were taken out of interest as I drive a Land Rover and thoroughly enjoy at all times. Merc C200 does nearly double and I hardly ever use it for journeys, the shops if it saves changing round in drive.

2013 SD GS 18" wheels. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

Mine has been sitting around the 23/24mpg mark. But I have had a faulty Turbo which for sure will not be helping, also winter tyres will lose you about 2-3 mpg.

So now the new Turbo is on, I fully expect things to improve, and then improve again once the summer tyres are back on next month. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
