Thanks for the information, I didn't realise how easy it is to install (that being a big consideration) |

I was going to re-map my last car, aVolvo V50, but was advised by my independent garage that I could do untold damage to the engine. I am considering a small increase in BHP, with smoother running. I am also aware of informing my insurance company.I have spoken to a local Landrover specialist, who told me that it would be beneficial to do it. Who do you believe? I shall speak to another Independent, but I am inclined to go ahead anyway,in the Spring. |

Had a remap done on a previous vehicle, a Defender 90, after I had traded it in for my first Freelander 2 I heard the new owner had it removed together with the brilliant Overdrive unit Never did find out why!! |

+1 for the bluefin. I took mine off recently, always do if someone else is playing with the car, just in case they flash it and you lose the map, but in my experience, economy stays about the same, but overtaking is a little safer and faster with the remap - I'm putting it back on as soon as I post this.. Be aware though, a bluefin is locked on to a VIN and will need a reset for a new vehicle, even if it is the same model etc. This can be done online depending on the firmware required, or needs to be sent back. This will cost approx 280 (I spoke to them last week as it happens, but kept it on mine instead). |

Re-mapping will have no adverse effect on your car if driven with respect. But a decent re-map makes all the difference!

Why does someone always have to say this .... Most of us on here have been driving for a number of years! I can understand if this was a Polo forum and that we're all 17...just passed our driving test and that we don't realise that insurance companies should always be notified!
